For You/My Love

The piano spoke softly, through the window by the stairs
The night was drunk on whiskey, you can feel it in the air
The riddles will unfold and the stories shall be told
For you, just for you, my love.
And by the cold moonlight, where the mountains kiss the sky
We shall dance on to the music, of the wind and of the night
The riddles will unfold and the stories shall be told
For you, just for you, my love.
In between the lines of fancy and illusions left behind
Our songs will crossover and slowly intertwine
The riddles will unfold and our stories shall be told
For you, just for you, my love.

Let me tell you the story about the little girl with wings
How she danced through the shadows, how sweet she used to sing
She sang of swirling rainbows, rainforests of silver green
Rivers full of turtles and mermaids in between.
Her voice was soft and mellow, it lit the moonless night
Before dawn breaks tomorrow, she’ll take her final flight.
She dreamt to change the things around, she dreamt to save this land
From demons in tuxedos, white-collared fancy fiends
She dreamt a world that has no guns, a world that has no tanks
No standing armies at none’s command, no jets to form no flanks
But the warring hogs, they conspired and plotted her arrest
They tailored a golden cage for the little girl with wings.
A cage is but a contraption – a device designed to kill
It doesn’t really matter, if it’s gold or if it’s steel
The little girl with wings, she knew, she arranged her final flight
She bid farewell to all her friends, before the break of light
But we are just mere mortals, we love our golden bait
We hand-pick our contraptions and choose our tailored cage.
Let me tell you the story about the little girl with wings
How she danced through the shadows, how sweet she used to sing.
